Nested in 12 acres of natural setting in the totem Lake area of Kirkland, Morning Star Kirkland, a contemporary and beautiful community, is surrounded by mature trees, walking trails and outdoor amenities, offering residents strong connection to nature.

Our visionary client sought not just to provide housing for seniors but to redefine the concept of retirement living. Hospitality was to be the focal point which is defined in there new senior living product.

The project comprises 152 studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom independent living units, with resort-style amenities which include an indoor heated saline pool, a movie theater for cultural enrichment, a state-of-the-art fitness and wellness studio, a versatile multi-purpose space, and dedicated areas for artistic expression in the craft room and personal grooming in the salon and multiple dining options enhanced by celebrity chef driven menus.

The Community, is one of the first in its category constructed with cross laminated timber (CLT) slabs and wood panelized walls. The Exposed CLT in strategic areas in the interior like the dining room, provide a welcomed warm North West feel, and is part of the Biophilic approach to the design.

This tapestry of amenities is woven together to create a living experience that transcends expectations, elevating each resident’s daily life to a realm of comfort and style

The double height gives grandeur to the Entrance Lobby and is enhanced with the warmth of the exposed Glulam beams, columns and part of the ceiling’s CLT panels.
Indoors pool and Spa adds to the community amenities
Connection to the nature was a key component to the design, which could be seen here in the expansive windows of the dining room looking into the outside nature, the tree house that can open up and is nested in the middle of mature Douglas fir trees.
